How it works

Long-form in. Short-form out.

Three steps. No timeline scrubbing, no manual caption typing, no re-rendering loops in DaVinci.

01

Upload your footage

Drag in a video or audio file — a podcast episode, a recorded interview, a livestream VOD, a webinar replay. Anywhere from 10 minutes to 6 hours.

02

We transcribe and scan

Clip transcribes the full recording with word-level timestamps, then scans the transcript for hooks, punchlines, story beats, and moments that stand on their own.

03

Get post-ready clips

Download a stack of vertical (or horizontal) clips with burned-in captions, hooks at the front, and clean cuts. Ready to post — or tweak in your editor.

… so we had like three months of runway left, and honestly we were just…

The thing nobody tells you about shutting down a company is how fast it has to happen once you decide. Like, you imagine this slow wind-down, but…

… the lawyers move in, the bank moves in, your team needs answers by Friday, and…

I sent a cold email at 11pm on a Tuesday and had a $40k contract signed by Friday afternoon. And the email was, no joke, four sentences long.

… if you want me to send you the template I can drop it in the show notes…

What you get

Built for posting, not for editing.

Word-perfect transcripts

Full transcription with word-level timestamps. Speakers labeled. Searchable, editable, exportable as SRT or plain text.

AI moment detection

Hooks, punchlines, story beats, contrarian takes — Clip scans the transcript and ranks segments that stand on their own.

Burned-in captions

Word-by-word captions with the cadence of TikTok-native edits. Pick a font and color once, applied across every clip.

Vertical reframing

Auto-tracks the active speaker and reframes 16:9 source video into 9:16 without you touching a keyframe.

Editable picks

Don't like a clip? Nudge the in/out points, swap the hook, or regenerate the whole pick. Your transcript, your call.

Batch export

Export the whole stack in one click — MP4 ready for upload, or push straight to your scheduler.

Who it's for

If you publish long-form, you'll like it.

The best clips were already in the recording. Clip just finds them and ships them.

Podcasters

Two-hour conversations turned into a week's worth of vertical clips. Hook → punchline → CTA.

YouTube creators

Long-form essays and tutorials repackaged for Shorts and Reels without re-editing the whole thing.

Interviewers

Multi-guest recordings auto-split by speaker, with each guest's best moment surfaced separately.

Course creators

Hour-long lessons mined for the 30-second teasers that drive trial signups.

Founders + execs

Internal all-hands or podcast interview → a stack of clips for LinkedIn, no agency required.

Livestreamers

Multi-hour Twitch / YouTube Live VODs scanned for the moments worth re-cutting and posting.

The workflow

From upload to published — without a single keyframe.

You drop in a file. Clip handles transcription, picks, captions, and reframing in the background. When it's done, you skim a grid of clips, deselect the ones you don't want, and hit export. Or hand them off to your scheduler and walk away.

  • Up to 6-hour source files. Audio or video.
  • Vertical (9:16), square (1:1), or original aspect — your choice per export.
  • Caption styles you set once and reuse forever.
  • Bring your own brand colors and end-card.
  • Re-pick on demand: 'give me 5 more clips about pricing.'

Questions

FAQ

What kinds of files can I upload?+

MP4, MOV, MKV, MP3, WAV, M4A, and most common audio/video formats. Single files up to 6 hours and a few gigabytes. Multi-track recordings (e.g. one track per guest) are handled and labeled automatically.

How does the AI decide what to clip?+

It reads the full transcript and ranks segments by how well they stand alone — strong hooks, surprising claims, complete stories, punchlines, contrarian takes. You can also steer it with a prompt like 'find clips about pricing' or 'find the funniest moments' and re-pick on demand.

Are the captions accurate?+

Yes — transcripts are word-level with timestamps, and captions render the same words you'd see in the transcript. You can edit any word before re-rendering if you want to fix a brand name or proper noun.

Can I tweak the clips before exporting?+

Yes. Every pick is editable — nudge the in/out points, swap the hook, change the caption style, or regenerate the whole clip. The whole thing is non-destructive, so you can iterate without re-uploading.

Does it post to social platforms automatically?+

Not in v1 — you download the MP4s and post from your phone or your scheduler of choice. Direct publishing to TikTok / Instagram / YouTube is on the roadmap.

What does it cost?+

Pricing lands when early access opens. Expect a per-hour-of-source-footage model with a free tier so you can try it on a single episode before subscribing.

How long does processing take?+

Most one-hour podcasts finish in under 10 minutes — transcription is the longest step. You can close the tab; we'll email you when the clips are ready.

Where does my footage live?+

Yours. Files are stored encrypted, scoped to your workspace, and deleted on request. We never train models on your content and never share it with third parties.
